Math content
Strengthen the algebra, functions, geometry, probability, statistics, and quantitative reasoning tested on the chosen exam.
SAT & ACT Math Preparation
Focused one-to-one work on tested mathematics, question analysis, pacing, accuracy, strategy, and performance under timed conditions.
Success on SAT or ACT Math requires more than knowing the underlying concepts. Students must recognize those concepts inside unfamiliar questions, choose an efficient solution method, use the calculator strategically, manage their time, and remain accurate under timed conditions.
Previous scores and practice work are reviewed to identify the math concepts, question types, error patterns, pacing decisions, and problem-solving habits that deserve the most attention. Sessions then focus on those priorities through direct instruction, guided practice, and timed work.
Areas of preparation
Strengthen the algebra, functions, geometry, probability, statistics, and quantitative reasoning tested on the chosen exam.
Break down unfamiliar wording, identify what the question is asking, and choose an accurate and efficient way to solve it.
Use graphing, tables, equations, and other calculator features to solve problems efficiently, verify results, and avoid unnecessary calculations.
Learn how to allocate time, recognize when to change methods, and decide when to skip a question and return to it later.
Determine whether a missed question resulted from a content gap, misreading, setup error, inefficient method, calculation mistake, or time pressure.
Build accuracy and consistency through mixed question sets, timed practice, and detailed review.
How it works
The preparation plan is based on the chosen test, recent performance, score goal, available preparation time, and current understanding of the tested math.
Review recent scores, completed practice, available timing information, and the student’s experience with the test.
Identify the math concepts, question types, error patterns, and pacing issues that should be addressed first.
Each session combines one-on-one instruction with guided problem-solving, calculator-based strategies, mixed question sets, and timed practice.
Use each round of practice to determine what has improved, what remains inconsistent, and what should be addressed next.
Premium Mathematics Tutoring
Premium Mathematics Tutoring may focus on SAT/ACT preparation alone or include academic math or AP/IB preparation as the student’s priorities change. It begins with an Initial Mathematical Assessment and includes advance planning, ongoing progress analysis, and regular parent reviews with specific recommendations.
