Kennedy Nguyen, M.S.

A background in mathematics, statistics, teaching, and engineering.

I bring seven years of one-on-one math tutoring experience, an M.S. in Statistics from Purdue University, and professional experience in high school and college-level teaching and software engineering.

Teaching approach

I pay attention to how the student reaches an answer—not only whether it is correct.

My tutoring experience includes academic math, AP and IB courses, SAT and ACT preparation, and advanced high school and college math. Across these areas, I look closely at how a student interprets a problem, chooses a method, explains the reasoning, checks the result, and responds when the first approach does not work.

Before completing my graduate degree, I worked as a software engineer in an environment where accuracy, careful reasoning, and identifying the source of a problem were part of the daily work. That experience strengthened the systematic approach I now bring to assessment and instruction.

“The goal is not to make a student dependent on a better explanation. It is to help the student build a more reliable mathematical process of their own.”

Kennedy Nguyen

One tutor throughout

Every student works directly with me.

I review submitted materials, plan and teach every session, conduct assessments, and lead parent reviews. Students are not assigned to a rotating team or handed off to another tutor after enrollment.

Enrollment is limited to five students per semester so that each student can receive the preparation and individual attention included in the service.
